TRD News (“TRD”, “we”) is owned and operated by Vexequ LLC. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have. It applies to trdsn.xyz and any TRD News site or email.

What we collect

Account details you give us: username, display name, password (stored only as a one-way scrambled hash we can’t read), and optionally an email, a mobile number and a profile photo.
Age band: at sign-up we ask your birth month and year to confirm you’re 13 or older. We keep only “13–17” or “18+” — never your birth date.
Sign in with Google or Apple: the account ID they give us and, if shared, your email. We never see your Google or Apple password.
Your picks: desks, sports, teams, topics, people you follow, reading mode and Rundown settings.
Things you send us: feedback, feature ideas and Pulse taps (Pulse taps are counted in total, not tied to your name).
Consent records: each time you opt in or out of email or text updates — what you agreed to, when, and the address it covers.
Basic technical data: your IP address is used briefly to stop abuse (rate limits) and is not stored with your account. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, or anything about you from other websites.

How we use it

To run your account and show the news, scores and Rundown you picked.
To send email or texts only if you opted in, and to honor opt-outs.
To keep TRD safe: moderation, spam and abuse prevention, security.
To improve TRD from feedback and overall (not individual) usage counts.

What we never do

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising.
No tracking pixels, ad networks or data brokers. No gambling or betting partners or ads.
Sponsors never receive your personal information. Sponsored blocks and banners are clearly labelled, and we count views and clicks in total only.

Cookies and browser storage

Essential first-party cookies run the site: your sign-in session, your picks if you aren’t signed in, a short-lived cookie during Google/Apple sign-in, a short-lived age-check cookie, your Refresh mix, a count of free live streams for guests, and your cookie choice. Your Paper/Dark choice and saved clips are kept in your own browser. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can review your cookie choice any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Embedded YouTube videos are loaded by YouTube when you play them and are covered by Google’s privacy policy.

Service providers

We use a small set of providers, each bound to use data only to serve TRD:

Vercel — website hosting, plus Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights: anonymous page view and page-speed counts, with no cookies and nothing that identifies you.
Upstash — database for accounts, picks and consent records.
Groq — AI that writes summaries, your Rundown and answers to questions you ask TRD. It receives news headlines, public scores and stats, your picks (teams, topics) and the question you typed, never your name, email or phone. On its free tier this provider may use what it receives to improve its services, so please don’t type personal details into Ask TRD.
Google and Apple — only if you choose to sign in with them.
An email/SMS delivery provider — only if you opt in to updates.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect people’s safety, or as part of a merger or sale of Vexequ LLC (with this policy continuing to apply).

How long we keep it

Account data stays while your account is open. When you delete your account, your account, picks and photo are removed right away. Consent records are kept as long as the law requires to prove what was agreed. Feedback is kept to improve the product unless you ask us to delete it.

Security

Passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted (HTTPS), and access to data is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we will notify you and authorities as state law requires.

Your rights and choices

See and change: your account details and picks are in your profile.
Delete: delete your account anytime from your profile.
Get a copy, or correct: email support@whu-ai.com and we’ll respond within 45 days.
Stop emails or texts: untick them in your profile, use the unsubscribe link, or reply STOP to a text.
Opt-out signals: we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC). Because we don’t sell or share personal information, there is nothing further to opt out of.

State privacy rights. Residents of California and of states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia) may have the right to know, access, correct, delete and port their data, and to opt out of sale, targeted advertising and profiling. We extend these rights to every user. Email support@whu-ai.com from the address on your account; you may use an authorized agent. If we deny a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer. We will never treat you differently for using these rights.

California “Shine the Light”: we don’t share personal information with third parties for their direct marketing.

Children and teens

TRD News is not for children under 13. Our sign-up asks for your birth month and year and does not create an account for anyone under 13, in line with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email support@whu-ai.com and we will delete it.

Readers aged 13–17 can use TRD with these protections: no text messages, no sponsored content targeting, and your profile is never public. Parents or guardians may contact us to review or delete a teen’s account.

Changes and contact
